Coronovirus Update 23rd March 2020

Writer's picture: Luan WallLuan Wall

Sitting here on Monday morning, staring out of the window, the world looks completely normal, but we all know that it isn't.

Friday's announcement of the closure of communal meeting areas, including gyms, did not come as any surprise to us. In fact, the majority of the following post was drafted prior to that announcement, when we had made the difficult but necessary decision that, regardless of any government edict, we would be ceasing our indoor gym work with effect from today. It was just untenable to continue to encourage people into that environment, or even to encourage people to be leaving their homes unless absolutely necessary.

With the gyms across the country now closed, and social distancing a real necessity to try to curb the spread of the virus, we are endeavouring to encourage all of our clientele to minimise their contact with the outside world whilst maintaining their exercise regime. We appreciate that this is not easy, particularly if you have children at home with you.

Yes, we could still 'meet' in an outdoor environment and exercise together at least 6 feet apart, but that still involves at least one of us travelling to that venue and, therefore, being out and about … and we no longer want to be encouraging you to do that unless absolutely necessary - even if our livelihood depends on it! We all want this virus threat to be over as soon as possible and must hold ourselves responsible for our own actions with regards to possible transmission.

Accordingly, we are encouraging all of our clientele who would normally see us face to face to think of alternative ways to interact with their Personal Trainers... Maybe working remotely through social and exercise media, with us preparing you a coached session you can then perform on your own... maybe by changing your focus to a schedule of running or walking as appropriate, with sessions set by a trainer to guide your focus... maybe by changing your focus to your dietary intake (after all, you hopefully now have more time to cook from fresh and less opportunity to eat junk food!)… And we, in turn, will do our best to accommodate any requests. We are looking at all aspects of social media to try to find the best solutions on a client by client basis and want your input as to what may work best for you.

Unused Sessions:

All clientele will receive credit for any unused package sessions once this threat has blown over and we are starting to return to normal. Such credits will be available either as Gift Vouchers to use on any of our services, or as credit towards their next payment. Should anyone not wish to take up these credits, refunds will be available subject to a 10% processing fee, please just let us know that you wish to be refunded and supply us with your bank details to enable us to process it.

Monthly Pay Clients: Please don't forget to cancel or amend your direct debits for April!!

Going forward, we have adjusted the costs of our online coaching packages to help make them more affordable. Here is a sample of the packages on offer, but if you want something else, just ask and we will endeavour to supply it:
